Courageous Wholeness Coaching is grounded in the following belief:
The systems and structures around us are a reflection of our current way of being.
If we want to create new developmental infrastructure, than we must cultivate news ways of being within ourselves to make those new systems possible.
This understanding of the work of change reflects the key assumption of our Dual Journey model: The processes of inner and outer change are too interconnected to separate.
To create the developmental infrastructure that makes inner development at scale possible, we must learn how to lead as hosts rather than lead as heros. We can only do this if we have learned to work skillfully with our need to provide direction and answers and learned to manage our own hungers for control.
We must learn to lead with questions rather than always providing answers. We can only do this if genuinely value inquiry and believe that dialogue co-creates meaning and insight.
We must must complement traditional professional development experiences that provide people will skills and knowlege (the “Know” level of The Flame) with times and spaces in which we treat others as already whole and complete at the “Be” level of The Flame. We can only do that if we know how to relate to our own way of being in that way as well.
This is the kind of deep inner work that senior leaders must do as they walk the path to creating new developmental infrastructure for inner development in their organizations.
This is the work of Courageous Wholeness coaching, and I’m uniquely qualified to guide clients through this Dual Journey of inner and outer change. I bring the following experiences to every conversation I have with a client:
Harvard doctorate in adaptive leadership and human development
Certification as an Integral Master Coach through Integral Coaching Canada
Inner Development Goals Ambassador (Mistral Cohort)
Two decades of experience as a senior leader building developmental infrastructure at high-performing nonprofits
Published author and thought leader focused on this work
This is deep, transformational work that will shift your understanding of who you are, how change happens, and what it means to lead.
I guide clients through this work with skill, deep compassion, and wisdom.

What does it look like in practice?
In practical terms, a standard Courageous Wholeness Coaching Engagement lasts for eight sessions occuring over the course of four months. Clients meet with Max for a series of one-hour virtual coaching calls that occur roughly once every other week. Clients will do some foundational reflection work between sessions #1 and #2; after that, they will complete daily practices and reflection exercises that should only take 5-10 minutes a day to complete.
